Is Lingopie: Learn Languages With TV Shows & Movies safe?

Lingopie intercepts Netflix and Disney+ subtitle tracks and sends the caption text to its own servers for translation.

On Netflix and Disney+ watch pages the extension overrides the page's JSON.parse to capture subtitle download URLs, fetches the raw caption files, and POSTs the subtitle text (with episode ID and playback time) to lingopie.com to power in-player language-learning captions. When you add a show to your catalog or report an issue, it also looks up your public IP and country from the third-party service get.geojs.io and includes them in a Lingopie URL or support email. All activity is scoped to netflix.com, disneyplus.com, and lingopie.com.
