Is StatsHunters safe?

Medium risk

StatsHunters posts its stored API code into route-planner pages and lets those pages request StatsHunters API data.

When a supported route-planner page loads, the content script reads Chrome sync storage and posts the saved StatsHunters API hash into the page with targetOrigin '*'. Page scripts that send the expected message can ask the background script to fetch www.statshunters.com/api/{hash}/{endpoint} with caller-supplied query parameters and receive the JSON response back in the page.

Where it sends data

Destinations our analysis observed StatsHunters contacting. Sending data somewhere is not a finding on its own - an extension that syncs your settings has to talk to its own server - but it is where your data can go, and who else it goes to.
