Is Gifs autoplay for Google™ safe?

Gifs autoplay for Google™ rewrites User-Agent headers on Google Image Search requests to receive animated GIF data from Google's servers.

The extension modifies outgoing requests to Google Image Search pages by changing the User-Agent header to an Android Chrome value, causing Google to return mobile-formatted responses that include animated GIF content. A content script running in the page's MAIN world patches XMLHttpRequest to intercept GET responses and relay them via postMessage to the extension's own content script for processing. No user data is transmitted to any third-party servers; all activity is scoped to Google domains.
