Is mail.com MailCheck safe?

mail.com MailCheck scans open tab URLs at install to capture affiliate codes and sends account and install data to go.mail.com on uninstall.

At first install, the extension queries all open browser tabs and scans their URLs for hash-fragment-encoded affiliate keys, storing any match locally. When the extension is removed, it fires a beacon to go.mail.com containing the captured affiliate code, account count, login state, and install date. Additionally, a content script running on mail.com and related vendor pages injects a postMessage listener that replies to any page—without origin restriction—with extension metadata including version, install date, and affiliate key.
