Is SmartPrice Guard safe?
SmartPrice Guard rewrites every Amazon product URL and link with its own affiliate tag from a remote server, undisclosed.
On every Amazon product page, the extension sends the page URL, product title, price, and ASIN to stream.smartpriceguard.com, which returns an affiliate tag that the extension inserts into the address bar, into every Amazon link on the page, and into the Buy Now / Add to Cart flow before the purchase completes. This runs automatically regardless of which price-comparison features are enabled or disabled in the popup. That same product data is also sent to the backend over plain HTTP rather than HTTPS, so it is readable and modifiable by anyone on the network path.

Where it sends data
Destinations our analysis observed SmartPrice Guard contacting. Sending data somewhere is not a finding on its own - an extension that syncs your settings has to talk to its own server - but it is where your data can go, and who else it goes to.
