Text to Speech is rated clean, though our review noted the following. Our dynamic analysis captured 16 POST requests from the Read Aloud extension to app.readaloud.net/api/v1/optimization-rules while navigating across google.com, amazon.com, reddit.com, and wikipedia.org. Each request contains the current page URL, the previous page URL (forming a complete navigation chain), a persistent device identifier, and HTTP response metadata. The extension uses AES-GCM encryption with a key hardcoded in the shipped source code, so the payloads are not confidential from anyone who reads the extension code. Existing users were enrolled into this collection on extension update, without a new consent prompt, if they had not previously toggled the feature.
