Is UpNote Web Clipper safe?

UpNote Web Clipper reads the page DOM, title, URL, and selected text and passes them to the locally installed UpNote app on user click.

When the user clicks the extension icon, a content script extracts the full page content using Mozilla Readability or the user's text selection. This data is serialized as JSON and handed to the local UpNote desktop application via the upnote:// URL scheme. No data is transmitted to remote servers; all processing occurs locally between the browser and the UpNote app installed on the device.
