Is YouTube Downloader safe?

YouTube Downloader adds download buttons to YouTube watch pages and fetches YouTube's player JS at runtime to decode video URLs.

The extension injects a content script into YouTube watch pages that adds download controls. To generate working download links, it fetches YouTube's player JavaScript, extracts a signature-decoding function from it via regex, and executes that function body using eval() to transform obfuscated video URLs into downloadable ones. All network activity is limited to www.youtube.com; no user data is sent to third-party servers.
