Is Admin By Request safe?

Admin By Request monitors browser downloads and forwards the file path of completed .exe files to the vendor's native host on the device.

When a browser download of a .exe file completes, the extension retrieves the full local filesystem path and forwards it to a locally installed Admin By Request native messaging host via the com.abr.startapp channel. The native host performs policy evaluation and can trigger a notification in the browser. No data leaves the local machine; all communication is between the extension and the vendor's own desktop application.
