Cently is medium risk. When you browse to an http or https page, Cently injects a page script that watches JavaScript-driven navigation changes such as history updates, location changes, and new windows. Those navigation events are relayed to the extension background for redirect-chain tracking. We observed Cently store remote-configured checks for other shopping extensions under the installedExtensions key, with Rakuten, Coupert, and Capital One recorded as false in the test run. The source code fetches the selector configuration from eb.nextgenshopping.com/flags, evaluates each selector on pages where the content script runs, saves the resulting name-to-boolean map in extension storage, and later builds Snowplow user-entity data that includes comp_ext alongside the extension version and installation sync ID.
