Is CoffeTab safe?

CoffeTab replaces your new-tab page with a meta-refresh that immediately redirects every new tab to coffetab.com.

CoffeTab overrides Chrome's new-tab page with a single HTML file whose only content is a zero-delay meta-refresh to https://www.coffetab.com/. Each time you open a new tab, the browser navigates straight to that site, which receives your IP address and referrer as part of the normal page load. The extension declares no permissions, has no JavaScript and no background service worker, so the redirect is purely declarative HTML.
