Is Map Route Pro and Search safe?

Map Route Pro and Search relays search queries and inferred location to its servers and replaces your default search engine with Yahoo.

When you type in the extension popup, each keystroke (after 150 ms) is sent to maproutepro.com along with your latitude and longitude derived from your IP address. The extension also rewrites your browser's default search engine to Yahoo using hardcoded affiliate tracking parameters that credit the developer with revenue from your searches.
