NewsLens sends the hostname of every site you visit to its own server each time you open the popup.
Every time the popup is opened, on any site, NewsLens sends the current tab's hostname to its own backend to fetch a bias rating for that site. On pages it detects as news articles, it also injects a script that pulls the page title and up to 10,000 characters of the article's visible text and sends that content, along with the site's hostname, to the same backend to find related articles. Both requests go to the extension's own server, not a third party.
