Is Search Engine by SoSearcher safe?

Search Engine by SoSearcher sets itself as the default search provider and routes every address-bar query through sosearcher.com with a fixed partner tag.

The extension overrides Chrome's default search so that omnibox and address-bar searches are sent to sosearcher.com, including as-you-type suggestion requests that transmit partial queries keystroke-by-keystroke. Each request carries a static sid=g1.2 affiliate tag identifying the install source. It also overrides the browser startup page to open sosearcher.com on every launch and registers an uninstall URL that pings the vendor with a random install ID.
