Is Tab Modifier safe?

Tab Modifier lets webpages trigger its tab-management shortcuts with synthetic keyboard events.

Tab Modifier listens for Alt-based shortcuts on every page and forwards matching key events to its background script. Because the content script does not require browser-generated events, a webpage can dispatch a matching synthetic key event to make the extension run actions such as opening the active tab URL in a new tab or modifying tab details.
