Is Backstory safe?

Backstory places its extension runtime ID in the page after you activate it on a tab.

When you use Backstory on a tab, it injects a content script into that page and adds a hidden marker containing the extension's runtime ID. Page scripts can read that marker after activation, but the stored claim does not identify any data being sent to an external endpoint.
