Our review of Bing Search surfaced the following. On install, on update, and once per day thereafter, the extension POSTs an Application Insights event to dc.services.visualstudio.com/v2/track. The body includes a persistent machine identifier, the extension ID and version, your browser name and version, your OS, your locale, and Microsoft partner/channel codes. The extension is published by Microsoft and the destination is Microsoft's Application Insights ingestion endpoint, so this telemetry is consistent with the stated publisher; we are documenting it here so users know what data leaves their browser and on what schedule. We captured the full request body in two fresh-profile runs.
