Pop2Watch is medium risk. Our dynamic analysis captured Pop2Watch contacting its ad server at api.pop2watch.com/decoration_sets on browser start. The server returned a configuration listing which websites to inject ads on and what ad formats to use. On each page load the extension checks your current URL against that list; when it matches, the extension injects its ad script into the page and renders banner images, iframes, or full-page overlays sourced from advertiser URLs including metaffiliation.com tracking links. The ad targets are fully server-controlled — they can be changed at any time without a new extension update. Pop2Watch's Chrome Web Store listing describes the extension only as a TV show tracker that alerts you when titles become available online.
