Is Volume Booster & Sound Equalizer – Bass Boost for Chrome safe?
Volume Booster & Sound Equalizer captures the active tab's audio for local equalizer processing.
When you start its audio effects, the extension captures the current tab's audio stream through Chrome's tab capture API. It sends that stream to an offscreen extension page, where WebAudio nodes apply equalizer and effect settings and route the processed audio back to playback. The reviewed source did not show this audio stream being sent to a network endpoint.
