Is Bloomberg Terminal: Clip to NOTE safe?

Low risk

Bloomberg Terminal: Clip to NOTE lets any web page submit supplied files and notes to Bloomberg ClipServ.

Any web page can send a submit message to the extension's content script, which forwards it to the background service worker without checking the page origin. The background worker uploads supplied file data and note fields to Bloomberg's ClipServ endpoints using the signed-in Bloomberg session.

Where it sends data

Destinations our analysis observed Bloomberg Terminal: Clip to NOTE contacting. Sending data somewhere is not a finding on its own - an extension that syncs your settings has to talk to its own server - but it is where your data can go, and who else it goes to.

  • contributor.bloomberg.com

Bloomberg Terminal: Clip to NOTE sends data to contributor.bloomberg.com. No other extension we have analysed sends data here.
