Is Cursor Tails - Animations for your mouse safe?

This extension adds colorful animated objects that trail the mouse cursor on regular web pages.

Users choose an icon from the extension popup, then see the selected objects follow the cursor on http:// and https:// websites. The popup also includes controls to stop and start the effect when desired. The description notes that it does not work on pages such as chrome:// pages or the Chrome Web Store.
