Is Diffit for Chrome safe?

Diffit for Chrome passes text you select on pages, plus the page URL, to its side panel.

Diffit's content script runs on all sites and, when you select more than 50 words outside an input field, sends the selected text and page URL to the extension's side panel. The side panel stores it in its own state so it can work with that text. No direct network send was observed from the content script.
