Is IDmelon Accesskey safe?

Low risk

IDmelon Accesskey lets any website ask it for the UID of the smart card tapped on your reader.

The extension talks to a connected smart card reader through the Smart Card Connector app. Its externally_connectable setting allows any web page to send a getCardUID message, and the extension replies with the card's UID without checking which site asked. A card has to be tapped within 30 seconds for a UID to be returned.
