When the 'Prevent Facebook Feed Reload' option is turned on, J2TEAM Security installs code directly inside Facebook's page environment that replaces four native browser APIs: the property reporting whether a tab is in the background, the property reporting page visibility state, and both event-listener registration methods on the document and window objects. Because this code runs in the same JavaScript context as Facebook itself, it can intercept any event listener that Facebook registers for tab visibility, focus, and page lifecycle events without notifying the user. Dynamic analysis confirmed the overrides are installed and actively suppress event delivery to the page.
