Is Manuals Explorer & Custom Web Search safe?

Manuals Explorer replaces the browser's default search engine with Yahoo Search via affiliate tracking parameters on install.

On installation, the extension overwrites the browser's default search engine with a Yahoo Search URL that includes hardcoded affiliate identifiers (hspart, hsimp, type, param1, param2). This override is declared in the manifest and takes effect immediately without a separate user consent step beyond the browser's extension install prompt. All subsequent address-bar searches are routed through Yahoo's affiliate tracking endpoint.
