OpenSpeedCheck is critical risk. Code analysis shows that when Speed Test runs on Google Trends, it creates a Pusher connection authenticated through refresh.openspeedcheck.com and subscribes to per-user private task channels. Those task messages are forwarded to the background worker, stored as pending search tasks, and used to open or reuse a pinned Google tab where the extension searches for supplied keywords, compares results against supplied target URLs, clicks results according to supplied probabilities, and optionally follows deeper links. Earlier dynamic analysis did not capture the Pusher auth POST or WebSocket traffic because content-script network calls were not observable in that test environment, so the endpoint evidence here is code-backed rather than packet-captured. The extension contacts a remote server every three minutes to download configuration that controls how your browser simulates search-engine clicks — including which search positions to click, how long to spend on each page, and which deep-link URLs to follow. The settings are stored in the extension's local storage and applied immediately to the click-simulation engine. Dynamic configuration updates allow these behaviors to change at any time without an extension update.
