Is SimilarTube - Find Similar YouTube Channels safe?

SimilarTube reads the public contact email off YouTube channel About pages and sends it, plus your account name, to its own servers.

While you browse YouTube, the extension polls each channel's About page once a second and, the first time it sees a published mailto: contact address, uploads that email to www.similartube.co with no action from you. It also starts Amplitude analytics using your signed-in account name combined with a slice of your auth token as the user identifier, so usage telemetry tied to your account is sent to Amplitude.
