Is TabRest - Rest your tabs, free your RAM safe?

Automatically unloads inactive tabs to reduce memory use while keeping them visible in the tab bar.

This extension discards inactive tabs using Chrome’s native tab discard feature, with configurable timers, RAM thresholds, startup unloading, and manual shortcuts. It can skip or protect selected tabs and domains, including whitelisted sites, pinned tabs, media tabs, and tabs with unsaved forms. The popup shows RAM usage and unload statistics, and includes tools such as duplicate-tab closing, tab search, settings import/export, and optional anonymous error reporting.
