Weather Extension transmits your precise GPS coordinates and a persistent installation identifier to its servers every 60 minutes.

The extension schedules an hourly alarm that retrieves the device's GPS coordinates via the browser geolocation API and sends latitude, longitude, and location name to weatherextension.com. Each request includes a persistent 'appId' header assigned at registration and stored across browser sessions, allowing the vendor to build a location history tied to a specific installation. A hardcoded third-party API key for weather.com is also embedded in the bundle, exposing it to anyone who inspects the extension files.
