Is YouTube Proxy safe?
YouTube Proxy routes YouTube and Google video traffic through remote proxy servers.
The extension installs a PAC proxy configuration for YouTube-related domains, including youtube.com, googlevideo.com, ytimg.com, and related hosts. It can use hardcoded proxy servers or fetch proxy configuration dynamically, and the dynamic path checks the device's public IP before requesting a proxy.

What it can do
Permissions this extension asks for, as declared in version 2.6. Asking for a permission is not a finding on its own - it is what the extension can do if it chooses to.

Where it sends data
Destinations our analysis observed YouTube Proxy contacting. Sending data somewhere is not a finding on its own - an extension that syncs your settings has to talk to its own server - but it is where your data can go, and who else it goes to.
