Is YouTube Speed Controls safe?
YouTube Speed Controls adds keyboard shortcuts to change video playback speed on YouTube pages.
The extension injects a content script on youtube.com that listens for keypress events (backtick, quote, and modifier combinations) and sets the HTML video element's playbackRate to 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x, or 5x accordingly. A brief on-screen speed indicator appears over the video when the speed changes. All processing is local; the extension makes no network requests and collects no user data.
