Is easyScholar safe?

easyScholar displays journal rankings on academic pages and routes translation requests through its own servers and third-party APIs.

The extension injects ranking badges and a translation panel into academic websites. When users invoke translation, text is sent to one of several services including easyscholar.cc relay endpoints, Google Translate, or the Caiyun AI API. A hardcoded Caiyun API key is stored in the extension bundle and can be silently replaced by a server-provided token fetched from easyscholar.cc every three days.
