Is Heimdall safe?
Heimdall captures the text you copy or cut on any page, tags it with your Chrome profile email, and sends it to Shopee's servers.
A content script injected into pages listens for copy and cut events and reads the selected text, then stamps each event with the URL and the email address from your signed-in Chrome profile before sending it to the vendor's telemetry backend. The same backend also receives a log of page visits, file downloads, and periodic heartbeats, each tied to that same profile email. Which sites this happens on is controlled by a remote allow-list the vendor can change at any time without releasing a new extension version.

What it can do
Permissions this extension asks for, as declared in version 1.8.1. Asking for a permission is not a finding on its own - it is what the extension can do if it chooses to. The current listed version is 1.8.2, which we have not unpacked yet.

Where it sends data
Destinations our analysis observed Heimdall contacting. Sending data somewhere is not a finding on its own - an extension that syncs your settings has to talk to its own server - but it is where your data can go, and who else it goes to.
