Is Journey ArtPrompt with Midjourney safe?

Journey ArtPrompt with Midjourney lets a remote server silently replace the new-tab search engine used for every typed query.

The new-tab page's search box defaults to Bing, but the extension checks browser-plugin-api.com every minute and on install and will overwrite the search URL template with whatever the server sends back. Every character the user types is then substituted into that server-controlled template and the browser is navigated there, so the vendor can redirect search traffic to a different destination at any time without a client update. On first install, the extension also tries to adopt a persistent identifier from a same-family tracking domain (via a cookie-bearing request) before falling back to a freshly generated random UUID, and uses this ID in install/uninstall beacons sent to its own servers.
