Is Lazy Tabs safe?

This extension discards tabs at startup or when you click its icon to reduce memory and bandwidth use.

It automatically discards all tabs when the browser starts, and it can also discard tabs on demand from the toolbar icon. The store description says it works without tracking and without permissions.
