Is Libdata App Extension safe?

Libdata App Extension routes all browser traffic through a configured proxy and answers any HTTP auth prompt with its proxy credentials.

The extension, a kiosk/session manager for managed ChromeOS sessions, applies a fixed proxy configuration received from its own pages so browser traffic goes through that proxy. Its authentication handler runs on all URLs and supplies the stored proxy username and password to any HTTP auth challenge without checking whether the challenge came from the proxy.
