Is PowerNotes Research safe?
PowerNotes Research saves your page annotations to PowerNotes servers and accepts login messages from any web page.
The extension lets you highlight and annotate web pages and syncs those notes to your PowerNotes account. Its content script accepts a login message from any page without checking the origin, so a page could sign the extension into a different PowerNotes account and later annotations would go there. This requires a valid token for the other account.

What it can do
Permissions this extension asks for, as declared in version 0.85.18. Asking for a permission is not a finding on its own - it is what the extension can do if it chooses to.

Where it sends data
Destinations our analysis observed PowerNotes Research contacting. Sending data somewhere is not a finding on its own - an extension that syncs your settings has to talk to its own server - but it is where your data can go, and who else it goes to.
