Is Safe Surf safe?

Safe Surf sends every visited URL and extracted search-result links to Bitdefender's Nimbus cloud for phishing and reputation scanning.

On every page navigation, and after loads of Google, Bing, Yahoo, and DuckDuckGo results pages, the extension submits the visited URL (and, for search pages, the batch of result links pulled from the DOM) to nimbus.bitdefender.net, tagged with a per-install client ID, so its cloud can return a safe/unsafe verdict. Pages it classifies as phishing are separately reported back to the same service along with product and version info. This gives Bitdefender (via its "Chili Security"/"Safe Surf" branding) a running record of the sites users visit and search for, which is the expected data flow for a URL-reputation anti-phishing tool.
