Is Simple Mouse Gestures safe?

Simple Mouse Gestures lets page-created mouse events trigger all-site gesture handlers that can close the active tab.

The extension installs gesture handlers on every page and accepts right-button mouse events without checking that they came from a real user action. A page script can dispatch a downward gesture sequence that reaches the service worker and runs the configured close-current-tab operation.
