Is Smart zoom safe?

Zooms a selected column of text to fill the screen width.

This extension lets you right-click a column of text and choose Zoom, or use Shift-click, to enlarge it for easier reading. Esc unzooms, and the +/-/0 keys adjust font size; keyboard shortcuts can be disabled on a page with the backquote key. It works best on text-heavy sites and is disabled on some sites where it does not work correctly.
