When you start a sort, SortBuddy reloads the Instagram tab, captures matching Instagram GraphQL POST URLs, bodies, and headers, then sends those requests back to Instagram to retrieve feed or reel metrics. The content script runs on instagram.com and www.instagram.com and displays or saves the sorted metrics locally.
