Is Wappalyzer safe?

Wappalyzer collects visited hostnames and detected technologies and transmits them in batches to its own servers.

On each page visit, Wappalyzer reads response headers, cookies, and page scripts to identify the technology stack in use. Batches of up to 25 hostnames — each carrying detected technology names, versions, and hit counts — are periodically POSTed to ping.wappalyzer.com. On Chrome, this telemetry is sent without explicit user consent; Firefox users are shown a terms acceptance page before data is transmitted.
