Is Web Collector for MAXQDA safe?
Web Collector for MAXQDA fetches page-provided image URLs with extension privileges and writes the image data back into the page.
When its popup opens, the content script looks for images with empty or base64 sources and tries HTTP(S) URLs from data-src and other attributes. The background worker fetches those URLs if they return an image, converts the bytes to a data URI, and sets it on the original page image element where page scripts can observe it.
