Is Windscribe - Free VPN and Ad Blocker safe?

Windscribe routes browser traffic through its VPN proxy and injects content scripts on all pages to block ads, trackers, and spoof geolocation.

The extension intercepts all network requests via the browser proxy API and tunnels them through Windscribe's servers when the VPN is active. Content scripts run on every page to suppress ads and trackers and to override geolocation and language signals. A hardcoded client authentication secret in the bundle allows any reader of the source to generate valid API credentials for Windscribe's REST endpoints.
