Is ChatGPT LightSession safe?

ChatGPT LightSession intercepts ChatGPT API responses in the browser and trims conversation history to a configurable number of recent messages.

The extension patches the browser's fetch function on ChatGPT pages to intercept responses from the /backend-api/ endpoint. It rewrites the returned conversation mapping to keep only the last N messages (default 10, configurable 1–200) along the active thread path, then returns the trimmed data to the page. All processing happens locally in the browser; no data is sent to external servers.
