Is Elevate Tab safe?

Elevate Tab routes new-tab searches to search.elevatetab.com over cleartext HTTP, attaching a persistent per-user ID with each query.

When you search from the new-tab page, the extension sends your typed query to search.elevatetab.com using an unencrypted http:// connection, alongside a UUID generated at install, an install week/year, and a click_id. On every new-tab load it also resolves your approximate location by IP through the third-party services json.geoiplookup.io and api.geoiplookup.net, then stores the full response in local storage and passes the coordinates to its weather endpoint at elevatetab.com.
