Is KISS Translator safe?
KISS Translator reads visible text from pages you translate and forwards it to a third-party service, by default Microsoft Translator.
Running on all sites, KISS Translator collects text from page elements (headings, paragraphs, list items and similar) only after you turn on translation for a given site, then sends it to whichever translation backend you select. The default engine is Microsoft Translator; you can also pick Google, DeepL, or AI services such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and OpenRouter, in which case the same page text goes to that provider instead. The shipped code also embeds a hardcoded Google API key used as the default credential when the optional Google2 engine is selected.
