Video DownloadHelper intercepts network requests across all websites to detect downloadable media and fetches a remote ruleset to control per-domain behavior.

The extension registers webRequest listeners on all URLs to identify downloadable media such as video streams and M3U8 playlists; intercepted request and response headers remain in local extension state and are not transmitted externally. Once per day the extension fetches a configuration file from files.downloadhelper.net that governs which detection methods to use on specific domains and controls popup notifications. Detected media is stored locally and made available to the user for download.
